Cast: Sushmita Sen, Shiney Ahuja, Moushmi Chatterjee, Kim Sharma, Seema Biswas Director:Tanuja Chandra Producer:Anurradha Prasad Music:Anu Malik Date Of Release: Oct 6th, 2006 Synopsis
Director Tanuja Chandra has come out with a subject that has least impact, for her venture
'Zindaggi Rocks'. Her selection of cast is adequate. Though the story is maintained with twists,
the film lacks certain ingredients that attracts the audience.
Dr Suraj Rihan (Shiney Ahuja) is an able doctor in a big hospital. Kriya (Sushmita Sen) is a pop
singer. Both of the them meet in the hospital when Kriya's arm gets a deep cut which needs to be
looked into immediately. Suraj falls for her charm. He is introduced to Kriya's family that
includes her mother and a fun-loving aunt (Maushmi Chatterjee in a dual role), her cousin Joy
(Kim Sharma). Kriya has also got an adopted son Dhruv (Julian). Suraj and Kriya are drawn to
each other. Here onwards there are some twists and turns. Dhruv has a hole in his heart and
needs a heart transplant. Also Suraj is married and his wife is in coma. And how the things are
set right at the end, forms the remaining part of the film.
Performance:
Shiney Ahuja is efficient. He does a decent job in emotional sequences. Sushmita Sen is
effective. Her stage shows are fine. Maushmi Chatterjee does well in both as a mother and an
aunt. Seema Biswas, as the cop, is alright. Kim Sharma gets no scope. The child artist Julian
does well as Sushmita's son. The music by Anu Malik is the only asset for the film. Story and
direction are adequate. Cinematography is alright. The other technical aspects are
okay.
