'U Me Aur Hum' marks the directorial debut of a very talented actor, Ajay Devgan. Following in Aamir Khan’s footsteps, Devgan too has acted,
directed and produced the movie. It is interesting to see the real life couple after a long gap. Ajay Devgan handles the film with extreme care.
The actor needs to be lauded for choosing a daringly different theme in his debut film itself.
Ajay (Ajay Devgan) meets Pia (Kajol) on a cruise. She serves drinks on the cruise. Ajay falls in love with her. Although his first impression was
disastrous, Ajay doesn’t give up and tries everything possible to woo Pia. And by hook or crook he succeeds in paving his way to her heart.
The two soon develop a strong and special bond of love. They tie the nuptial knot. Soon their marriage becomes the ideal marriage for their
friends to look upon and learn. Soon their successful married life starts to tumble and they face a lot of emotional crisis. Pia suffers from
Alzheimer’s disease, in which she starts forgetting things in her life. Ajay turns into a caring husband. And how they solve the problems with
determination forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Ajay Devgan is good in a romantic role. His emotional sequences are interesting. He is the soul of the film. Kajol stands out yet again with a
brilliant performance. This is her first movie after the blockbuster 'Fanaa' in 2006. The chemistry between Kajol and Ajay onscreen, is
impressive. Sumeet Raghavan is superb. Divya Dutta is alright. Isha Sharwani looks gorgeous, performs well. Karan Khanna is okay. Sachin
Khedekar is good. The others have done upto the content. Music by Vishal Bharadwaj is pleasant. All the songs are situational and are catchy.
Background music is good. Dialogues are first rate. Cinematography is brilliant. Story and screenplay are the plus points of the film. Direction
is flawless. The film has got high production values.
