Aamir Khan is back after some gap, with his first directorial venture 'Taare Zameen Par'. The film is produced by Aamir
himself. The selection of cast and crew is brilliant. He deserves distinction marks for extracting an excellent performance
from a kid. The talented actor proves that he is a gifted director, who has the courage to try something different and
convince the audience.
Ishaan Awasthi (Darsheel Safary) is eight-year-old boy whose world is filled with wonders that no one else seems to
appreciate. He likes colors, fishes, dogs and kites and nothing else. He is bogged down with the constant pressures of
performing well in the class. Ishaan's father, Nandkishore Awasthi (Vipin Sharma), packs him off to a boarding school.
Things are no different at his new school. One day a new art teacher called Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan) enters into the
scene, who imbibes the culture of work with fun in the kids. Except Ishaan, the entire class responds to his ideas. Nikumbh
soon realizes that Ishaan is very unhappy and he sets out to discover why. With time, patience and care, he ultimately helps
Ishaan find himself.
