'Shaka Laka Boom Boom' is directed by Suneel Darshan. After attempting for simple movies in the past, the director goes to an international level
with 'Shaka Laka Boom Boom'. The film has a modern story that is entirely shot in South Africa. The film is packed with all ingredients to entertain
the audience for two and a half hours. Set against a backdrop of the international music industry, the film seems to be made for music
lovers.
AJ (Bobby Deol) is the most popular composer in New York. His hard work takes him to the peak. Reggie (Upen Patel) is a young and talented
newcomer who craves to be on the top like AJ. AJ goes to an extra distance to ensure that a new kid on the block is destroyed even before he
becomes a competitor. Then there is Sheena (Celina Jaitley) an ambitious PR professional who helped Reggie a lot professionally. But she holds
a grudge because he rejects her. There is also Ruhi (Kangana Ranaut), an aspiring singer who admires AJ. But she is loved by Reggie. Amidst
the ambition and desperation, a ruthless game starts with Ruhi and Sheena as its pawns. What happens hereafter is to be seen on the
screen.
Performance:
Bobby is one of the most under-rated actors around. It is interesting to see him in a negative role in 'Shaka Laka Boom Boom'. His outburst in the
end is remarkable. Upen Patel gets a complex role so early in his career. His role in the film proves that he has potential to climb the ladder as an
actor. Celina Jaitley does a small but a key role in the film. She looks good in her attire. Kangana is likeable. She performs well as an aspiring
singer. Anupam Kher does a good job as Upen's father. The others have done upto the content. Music by Himesh Reshammiya is the back bone
of the movie. Title song is stylish and interesting. Choreography is good. Dialogues are of first rate. Script and direction are fine. Cinematography is
fantastic. The other technical aspects are okay.
