The famous ad-film maker Harmohinder Singh popularly known as Robby pays his directorial debut with a suspense thriller Samay. The flick is another edge-of-the-seat kind of thriller

Story Malavika Sherawat (Sushmita Sen) is a brilliant cop who has earned herself a name for successfully tackling the most difficult of cases. Nothing could faze Malavika until she is assigned a murder investigation that turns out to be the most challenging case of her career.
The famous industrialist Kapil Shrama is found dead under mysterious circumstances. ACP Malavika is set on the task of unveiling the truth but she discovers that the queer murder by an unknown weapon was without any suspect, any witness and any motive! Even the blood reports deny the presence of any foreign particle that might be the cause of the death. Malavika is taken aback as she is stunned and vexed to find no clue that would lead her to the killer except a stab mark around the neck of the victim. Days pass on end leaving her baffled and as she spots a loophole. How she finally cracks the case forms the crux of the movie.

Performance Sushmita turns in a perfect performance, both as cerebral cop and single mom. Sushant Singh, who plays her junior in the film, is also the perfect pick, as is most of the cast.
verdict Storyline is tight from start to finish -- not even the item number Laila Laila is a frill. The build-up leaves you hanging on to every moment, the climax leaves you a little stunned. To sum up 'Samay' is a must watch movie, for it's gripping screenplay and awesome performance by Sushmita Sen.
