'Red Alert' is directed by Anant Mahadevan. And he has come up with a grim storyline and both the presentation and narrative
were good.
Story:
The story is set on the backdrop of a small hamlet in Andhra Pradesh. Here lives Narasimha (suniel), a farmhouse laborer. His sole
aim for existence is to ensure that his kids get due education and go to school but he doesn't have enough money for that.
However, situations land him in the middle of the naxalites and what starts as a role of cook for him eventually transforms him into
a naxalite as well. He comes across a lady naxalite (sameera) who was gangraped, an intellectual (makrand) and others. What
happens hereafter is to be seen on the screen
Performance:
Suniel Shetty came up with a brilliant performance, Sameera Reddy was a revelation, Ayesha Dharker was amazing, Seema was
superb, Gulshan Grover was good, Vinod Khanna was apt, Naseeruddin Shah made his presence felt, Ashish Vidyarthi was
excellent, Makrand was meaningful, the others also added value in a big way.
Music:
'Red Alert' music is composed by Lalit Pandit. And the background score was suiting the moods and songs were average.
