Synopsis

Zameer meaning the ego, is the story of a young girl Pooja (Amisha Patel). She falls in love with her Suraj Chauhan (Ajay Devgan), a professor at her college. But Suraj does not reciprocate to her affections. He is in love with Supriya Maheshwari (Mahim Choudhary). Supriya is disabled and Suraj is doing all he possibly can to cure her. But Pooja sees this relationship as a threat. She becomes jealous and eventually betrayed. Pooja feels that she has been cheated of her love and she looses all her power to think and understand like a normal human being. When others try to pacify her she says, “One never sees anybody's horoscope, before falling in love. Love just happens. And like anyone else I just can't forget my first love”. A dangerous obsession starts burning in Pooja's heart. Finally how her obsession shatters the life of Suraj, the soul of Supriya and her own ego (Zameer) is what the film deals about.

The life of Suraj and the soul of Supriya are shown in a very sensitive yet dangerous and colourful manner in Zameer. Mahima Choudhary and Amisha Patel have teamed up to make a Jagged Edge style thriller. Shooting for this film took place on the island of Diu where most of the song sequences were canned.
