Anu Malik along with some Pakistani music composers has composed the soulful music. PAAP introduces model Udita Goswami, highlighting a young girl's all-important decision of choosing the path of spirituality or love. Bipasha Basu was the original choice for the role. PAAP holds the distinction for being the first Bollywood movie to have its premiere in Kara Film Festival in Karachi 2003. For 21-year-old Goswami, playing Kaaya was the most difficult character a newcomer would have done.
