Shakespeare has come with a tale about love and jealousy in 'Othello'. Director Vishal Bhardwaj, who is fascinated with an idea of bringing Shakespearean tales to the big screen, has come up with 'Omkara'. The story surrounds three people and has been set in Uttar Pradesh.
Omkara (Ajay Devgan) rules U.P. He is of rough and tough character and is soft towards his wife Dolly (Kareena Kapoor). Omkara is fondly called as Omi and has Langda Tyagi (Saif Ali Khan) and Kesu Firangi (Viveik Oberoi) on either sides of his arms. The three know how to rule their area. But there comes a day when Omi has to choose one between his two men as his right hand. He chooses Kesu. Though it was a surprise to many, a cold feeling starts developing within Langda. He plans to destroy Kesu. His scheming mind starts changing Omi's mind about the relationship between Dolly and Kesu. This makes Omi to turn blind in rage.
Langda's wife Indu (Konkana Sen) also gets trapped to lend a helping hand to Langda.
Slowly but steadily, Landa' plan starts showing its colors. Omi starts looking at both Kesu and Dolly with hatred. And there is destruction all around. Would Omi finally realize about his actions that crossed the boundaries of rationalism? Watch it to know the answer. 'Omkara' is slated for release on 28th July. |  |
