Imtiaz Ali, whose forte is love stories, surpasses his previous two films 'Socha Na Tha' and 'Jab
We Met' to touch a new high in 'Love Aaj Kal'. Movie has a light humour through out.
Story:
The story is about Jai Vardhan Singh (saif) who has a relationship with Meera Pandit (deepika) in
the backdrop of London. However, they don't call it love since there are no strings attached. A
time comes when Meera decides to return to India and since they don't believe in long distance
relationships, they call it off. Meanwhile, Jai comes across Veer Singh (rishi) who recalls his
youthful days and his romance with Harleen. Being the practical guy, Jai finds it hard to believe
the love story of Veer but then as time passes, Meera finds another man and life moves on. But
little do both Meera and Jai know that they are in love with each other. What happens to these
love birds forms the crux of the story.
Performance:
Saif Ali Khan gives top notch performance. Deepika Padukone is apt. Rishi Kapoor is good. A
special mention ought to be made of the girl who plays Harleen, She has good looks and gets
just two-three dialogues in the film but still leaves her image in your mind. Rahul Khanna, playing
the new man in Deepika's life plays convincingly.
Music:
Background score is good. Music by Preetam is melodious and catchy. Cinematography
and choreography is good.
Verdict:
'Love Aaj Kal' has an interesting story line. Imtiaz Ali's screenplay is excellent. Movie can be
rated as an above average movie. Go watch it, You will not regret. | |
