Director Shirish Kunder has come out with a triangular love story that surrounds two men and a woman. 'Jaan-E-Mann' has an interesting story, execution and an experienced cast. The director has choosen good plot packed with all the necessary ingredients such as love, sentiment and comedy. The director needs to be applauded for presenting a good film in his debut attempt itself.
Suhan (Salman Khan) receives a notice to pay the alimony. He has to shell out about 50 lacs to his estranged wife Piya (Preity Zinta) who is now settled in the U.S. His uncle Boney (Anupam Kher) is a lawyer and tries to solve Suhan's problem. Then comes Agastya (Akshay Kumar), looking for Piya. He was in love with Piya during the college days and left the college since she was in love with someone else. Suhan and Boney hatch the plan to get Agastya and Piya together, so that Suhan is out of the mess. So Agastya and Suhan fly to New York. They hire an apartment right opposite Piya's residence and monitor each and every movement of her through binoculars and telescope. Suhan helps Agastya to woo Piya and she eventually gives in. The story takes a turn when Suhan gets to know of a certain reality. He feels responsible towards Piya. Suhan realizes his folly and wants to make amends. But Piya is now preparing for a life with Agastya. And what happens hereafter is to be seen on the silver screen.
Performance:
Salman Khan is brilliant. He looks handsome and sure to win the hearts of his fans once again. Akshay Kumar is good. His performance in the film is of first rate. His role is different from the routine. Preity Zinta is gorgeous. This is her best performance so far. Anupam Kher is superb. Aman Verma is decent. The other artists are fine. Music by Anu Malik is good. All songs are catchy. Choreography is excellent. Cinematography is good. Story, direction and screenplay are of first rate. All the other aspects are good.
