An Exclusive Interview With Tanisha
I do not try to imitate Kajol
Your mother Tanuja and sister Kajol allowed you a free ticket into Bollywood. But does that now mean added pressure?
People know who I am. It worked as a platform. But in time only my work will prove my worth. The pressure actually is to entertain, not to be like my mother or sister.
When did you decide on joining the movies?
I've wanted to act ever since I was a child. But when I was offered Tara Rum Pum, I was only sixteen. So I decided to finish with my education first.
How do you and Kajol get along? She is considered very chirpy and full of life. Are you like her?
It's just like big sister and small sister. She gives me advice but the final decision is always mine. I am a bit like her.
And your acting? Is that like her's?
We are sisters and grew up under the same roof. There are bound be to be similar characteristics. We have the same genes after all. But that does not mean I am imitating Kajol.
Did you consciously choose to debut with a thriller?
I was waiting for a good script and found this one most intriguing. So I said yes.
We have also heard that you are thinking of directing?
Yes. But right now I want to be noticed as an actress.
