Blasts 'disturbed' debutant director Neeraj Pandey, the debutant director of 'A Wednesday', is leaving no stone unturned in promoting his maiden venture.
The director has held a special screening of his film for the various political figures from around the country. The
director says that the blasts in the city have had an adverse effect on his mind. "Many of my acquaintances who
suffered the terrifying bomb blast experiences have still not been able to recoup in their lives. I have seen their miseries
from very close. This has been happening on and off throughout the country. It disturbed me and hence I chose this
subject. I wanted to bring forth the reality of such happenings. Surprisingly, most of the blasts have taken place on
Wednesdays, hence the title."
The director, who has chosen two of the most talented actors in Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher, says, "When I
started off with the script I had them in mind. Fortunately they agreed when I gave them the scripts. We had a reading
session before we actually began to work so there was very little room for improvisation later. In fact, both of them
being actors and directors, have been very cooperative. It was a learning process for me," informs the director. |
