Shilpa Shetty fiddles with the violin Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty is having tough time learning to play the violin for a film role. Shilpa has been nursing her calloused fingertips and neck sprains of late. The actress has been working hard to learn to play the violin for her role in Sunny Deol's film The Man . In the movie, Shilpa plays a celebrity who is also a violin player. Sunny Deol plays her robust bodyguard. To get under the very skin of her character, Shilpa has hired a violin instructor named Sandeep Thakur who is helping her understand the basics of the instrument. Since last three weeks, Thakur has reportedly been teaching Shilpa to play major and minor musical scales, but the actress is having difficulty in getting a free hand on the fiddle.
To further understand the posture of a violinist, Shilpa has been watching the videos of Vanessa Mae, the globally renowned violin player famous for fusing classical rhythms and melodies with techno music. During the shooting of ‘The Man' Shilpa’s violin trainer often accompanies her on the sets and guides her through the scenes. Even though Shilpa hasn’t learnt to play the instrument skillfully (it takes years to do that), the main emphasis during the shoot is to get a right movement of the bow and Shilpa’s fingers on the fretboard, according to a source. 'The Man' is being jointly directed by Sunny Deol and Neeraj Pathak.
