Sudhanshu is playing Anil Ambani 
Sudhanshu Pandey is making a fresh start in Bollywood with Sanjay Gupta's
Alibaug, which got delayed after actor Sanjay Dutt backed out of the
project. "Alibaug for me is like a new beginning. I play a character based
on industrialist Anil Ambani. It's a story about friends and the time span
of the film is just two days. It's a beautiful film," says Sudhanshu, who
has finished shooting for the film.
Speaking about Dutt's exit from the film, Sudhanshu says, "Dutt played a
pivotal role in the film. It did get delayed because he left the project,
but that has not affected the film. It's a dream project for Sanjay
Gupta."
The actor was last seen on television in the serial "Akela" on Sony. The
show was not a hit with the audiences. "Akela" was based on a supernatural
story. I took on that show because of Glenn and Ankush Mohla, the directors
of the show. But after the third episode, the show did not take off, and
then it was quite demoralising."
After Akela, the actor was offered many roles, but he did not take up any
simply because he wanted to act in films. "During that period, I did not
entertain any television offers as I wanted to work in films, and now, here
I am," he says.
Given reality shows are such a huge trend on television, won't he like to
participate in them "I don't see myself as a reality show participant, but
I would like to host a show, but on my own terms," he says.
The actor will also be seen in Singh Is Kinng with Akshay Kumar. "It's a
story about a gang of sardars and is an action comedy. Akshay is my old
friend. I did my first film with him, "Khiladi 420", and he treats me like
hism younger brother and we also have a Punjabi connection," elaborates
Sudhanshu. During the shoot of the film, the crew was in Australia for two
months and they all stayed in the same hotel. "After the shoot, we all used
to eat together. I got Akshay's trainer to teach me stunts as well. He is a
fitness freak and works out like a maniac," he adds. Apart from Alibaug and
Singh is Kinng, he has signed another film with Gupta, which is an action
film.
