Action training helps Nikitan's 'mission'
Nikitan Dheer, son of actor Pankaj Dheer, who is more famous for playing Karna
in the Mahabharata series, is now following in his famous dad's footsteps.
Nikitin, who debuted earlier in the year with Ashutosh Gowariker's "Jodhaa
Akbhar", which he likes to describe as a special appearance. Now, he will be
seen in a full fledged role in Apoorva Lakhia's Mission Istanbul alongside
Zayed Khan and Vivek Oberoi. "I trained for eight and a half years in action. I
learnt dancing from Saroj Khan's dance academy. And as far as acting is
concerned, I have had a hands on practical training, reading parts in plays,
watching my friends enact plays. However, acting cannot be learnt.
The best training is practical experience," he says. Being a star son, did not
help him get a break in this industry. He had his shares of struggle as any
other new comer. It took him nearly five years to get his first break. "I play
the character of a young, flamboyant, billionaire who owns a news channel in
Istanbul. The film is action oriented and I'd like to think that action is my
forte, so I thoroughly enjoyed working for this film,” he elaborates. Nikitin
is also being approached for film projects and with his striking height and
positive demeanour, he should be in the swing of things pretty soon.
