'Serial kisser tag was not my doing' Emraan has been labelled the serial kisser of Bollywood. Is he planning to shed that tag? "I didn’t give myself that tag. I don’t understand why people make such a big deal about it. Probably because kissing is considered a Western concept," he says. He will be seen onscreen in Kunal Deshmukh’s Jannat after a long hiatus. The movie is based on cricket and match fixing. There are no prizes for guessing that Emraan essays the role of a bookie in the movie. "I play this interesting character of a bookie. I start as a gambler and then gradually get pulled into the world of match fixing," he explains.
The movie has been shot in South Africa. "We had a great time shooting the film. We played a cricket match also among ourselves, which was great fun. Since the cast and crew consisted of young people, it was a lot of fun," he says. He is known to be a prankster, but he did not play any pranks on the leading lady Sonal. Emraan does not want to essay typical characters. He wants to explore characters with dark shades. Emraan’s next release will be Raaz 2 and he is really excited about it.
He loves the horror genre. The actor feels that the horror genre in Bollywood has not been explored well but Raaz 2 will change all that. "Bollywood’s scary movies have all been about loud sounds and hideous makeup. But Raaz 2 is going to change the definition of horror. The scenes in the film are scary and we are shooting in the creepiest of places," he elaborates. Does he plan to change his look for the film? "Yes I am. I am trying to look scary. I could probably be the ghost in the film. I am, trying to explore something I have not done before." The film is being directed by Mohit Suri and stars Kangana Ranaut in the lead opposite Emraan. This will be Kangana’s second film with him after Gangster. With the IPL fever on, Emraan has been rooting for the Mumbai Indians.
