Minissha happy with career path
Minissha Lamba is mighty pleased the way her career graph is spiralling upwards. The actress, who has been in the industry for just four years, has already bagged a Yash Chopra film. With almost three good films in hand she says, "I have been selective about what I do but yes, I am satisfied with the way my career has been shaping up. I have always believed in an upward graph at the box office. I always wanted it to be slow and my career is indeed winding from better to the best." Looking back at her career she says, "I had nobody in the industry. I just fought my way up here. I have been very selective and am not doing films for the heck of it. When I began with a film like Yahaan, I never knew whether I would continue to do good films or not, but yes, I am glad about the films I am doing now. I am looking forward to Anant Mahadevan’s Anamika. Then there’s Sanjay Gadhvi's Kidnap and Siddharth Anand’s film with Ranbir Kapoor. My films are almost complete."
Speaking about Anant's Anamika, Minissha says, "It’s the story a innocent, naive girl who marries a man from the royal family. She is enamoured by his royal palace in Gajner but the real story begins when she learns of the dubious death of his former wife Anamika. It’s a thriller.” The actress reveals that the film is based on the book Rebecca. “That was one reason I chose to do the film," she says, “It was one of my favourite books in school and I had won the novel in a school competition. All I had to do was go through it again now. But reading the novel from an artiste’s point of view was something I had never experienced before. It intrigued me and when Anant offered me the role I just grabbed it." When asked about working opposite Dino Morea, the actress says, "It never concerned me who I would be cast opposite since the role was so exciting. Dino is a brilliant actor and you don’t see a person’s history or pre-judge them on their work. It is more important how you perform together on screen."
