Bhatts learn lesson from past, postpone 'Jannat' The Bhatts are wary of any other Bollywood biggie stealing the attention away from their next release, 'Jannat'. Starring their blue-eyed-boy
Emraan Hashmi and newcomer Sonal Chauhan in leading roles, ‘Jannat’ was slated to hit the theatres on May 2, a week after the Yashraj
Films next big presentation 'Tashan' on April 25. But now producer Mukesh Bhatt and presenter Mahesh Bhatt have decided to postpone the
film by two weeks. The Bhatts haven’t yet forgotten what happened to their film Awarapan which released alongside two big films, 'Aap Ka
Suroor and Apne' , both of which went on to do good business at the box-office, leaving ‘Awarapan’ sandwiched.
And the Bhatts are also not unaware of the aggressive marketing policy that Yashraj Films takes up for its every release. The production
house has already booked majority of cinema houses across India for ‘Tashan’. There is no doubt that the film will have a good opening. It
may also have a good run for at least a few weeks. Wary of competition, the Bhatts have decided to release ‘Jannat’ on May 16, a week after
the release of 'Bhoothnath' on May 9.‘Jannat’ tells a love story of a guy who wants to keep his girl happy in whatever way. So he adopts illegal
means to earn money. He gets involved in betting and match-fixing racket in cricket, only to end up in a mess he can’t get out of. The film is
directed by Kunal Deshmukh. |
