Amrita Rao signs Shirish's new flick Amrita Rao, who was once touted as the next best things after the success of 'Ishk Vishq' and 'Main Hoon Na', didn't have things going her way for a long time since then. But rather than making rash decisions and signing films that could be detrimental to her career, she preferred taking things easy. Neither did she try and ape the other come hither sirens, keeping her identity in tact. And that is what has paid her rich dividends now. 'Jaan-e-Mann' director Shirish Kunder has finished scripting his upcoming 'Joker', for which Shah Rukh has already been penciled in for the lead role.
Now after seeing the way the leading actress's role has shaped up, Shirish could only think of Amrita for the simple, sweet girl's character. Of course it helped that wifey Farah Khan has worked with Amrita for 'Main Hoon Na' and had a good word to put in about Ms. Rao, and Shah Rukh isn't averse to the idea either. It's a role many of the top actresses were vying for, but it's probably Amrita's smile that worked its charm for her. |
