Hollywood lures Shriya
Shriya Saran, who made a lot of news with her South film 'Sivaji' opposite Rajnikant is now looking forward to her first Hollywood venture Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment’s Other End Of The Line which has been completed. Shriya has been cast opposite Jesse Metcalfe and the film is being directed by Jimmy Dodson. What excited Shriya was being trained by Anupam Kher while working on the film. The film will be released by M.G.M.
"I am playing a girl working in a call centre who chats with an American everyday and falls in love with him. It is a very young role. I had done a ten-day workshop before the film went on floors and Anupam Kher, who is my father in the film, was kind enough to train me in his acting school under his teachers. He used to sit with me and discuss the role. and he helped me a lot. They are method actors and I am not a trained actor. It helped," says Shriya.
The actress says she has been very lucky in Bollywood because she had the opportunity to work with actors like Nana Patekar, Anupam Kher and Bobby Deol."I am working with Nana Patekar and Bobby in Ek-The Power Of One and it has been a tremenduous experience. What I enjoyed more was watching these people perform in front of the camera. Since they are method actors, their approach towards the role is very different. Nana used to sit and sketch everything on the sets. He used to sing old songs and make us find out which film it was from or who starred in the film. He kept us busy the whole day.” Deepa Mehta has signed Shriya on for her film, What’s Cooking?. Apart from these two films, Shriya will be seen in Apoorva Lakhia’s Mission Istanbul with Vivek Agnihotri and Zayed Khan.
