Tusshar to act in Niraj Vora's next film Producers Ekta and Shobha Kapoor have signed director Neeraj Vora to
direct a film for their company. Tusshar Kapoor will play the lead.
According to sources, in order to direct a film for Balaji, the
director was compelled to cast Tusshar Kapoor in the lead. Neeraj Vora,
however, denies the allegation and says no one has compelled him.
He says, “The report is baseless. The truth is that I had penned a
script, a romantic comedy, where I thought that Tusshar Kapoor would be
perfect to play the central character in the story. So I approached
him. It is a different story that Tusshar was impressed with the script
and keen to produce it. That is how Ekta and Shobha Kapoor came into
the picture. I plan to begin shooting this film immediately after the
release of 'Phir Hera Pheri' and 'Familywala'.”
'Familywala' starring Arjun Rampal, Dia Mirza and Paresh Rawal was launched in 2004. Why was the film held up for so long? “I suffered a personal setback. I lost my wife during that period and it was impossible for me to resume work. I was a broken man then. 'Familywala' is complete now. It should release sometime in August,” he said.
With 'Familywala', Vora turned to production. Vora says that the advantage of producing a film was it gave them a chance to have complete control over the film’s creativity. “I am the boss. I call the shots. And this works better for me. However, if I have written a script and the person who is directing the film does not project it the way I have visualised it, it still does not upset me. In such cases, I just cater to the producer’s business needs,” he adds. Vora also clarifies that 'Phir Hera Pheri' was a sequel of the characters and not the story. He says, “The film is a sequel of the characters played by Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. The story is completely different.” He adds, “As for the leading ladies, Bipasha Basu and Rimi Sen, I found them to be extremely professional.” |
