'De Taali' is Directed by E Niwas. The director who has been known for his immense talent has failed to live upto the mark this time and though his intentions were good to provide a good comedy with some heart filling moments, he forgot to keep hold on the story and its presentation. With this movie you realize that the director's intentions may be sincere, to make a full on entertainer, and comedy.
Another comic tale going sour, the film begins with three close buddies Paglu (Riteish), Abhi (Aftab) and Amu (Ayesha) who are very much part of each others lives so much so that both Paglu and Abhi do not even realize the presence of Amu as a girl. All is going well in the lives of the three friends until a time comes when Paglu realizes the special feelings Amu is getting for Abhi and it takes him a while before he makes her realize about her being a girl and then her unrealized love for Abhi.
As things take shape with Amu getting ready to pop the question to Abhi, tragedy strikes when they discover that Abhi is actually in love with Kartika also known as Anjali (Rimi Sen) who comes with a motive. Before the heartbreak has sunk in, another twist happens in the tale when Kartika gets kidnapped by the baddie (Saurabh Shukla) and from then on what follows is a weird tale of sentiment, melodrama and some unexpected surprises. And what happens hereafter is to be seen on the screen.
Performances:
'De Taali' belongs to Aftab Shivdasani, Ritesh Deshmukh, Ayesha Takia, Rimi Sen, Satish Shah, Anupam Kher, Saurabh Shukla, Mukul Dev, Pawan Malhotra The narration of the plot lacked luster and the script was written shabbily. The screenplay was better but missed out during the key points in the movie. The music was just about average with two numbers that were worth and the rest can be ignored. Camera was effective, was there someone in the editing team? Riteish has evolved more as an actor with each passing film and he sure has the potential to carry the film on his shoulders, Aftab did what he could to his select category of audience. Rimi was a stunner with some mesmerizing looks and spicy appeal but the real beauty is Ayesha who keeps growing prettier day by day. Some efficient cast like Anupam Kher, Saurabh Shukla, Pawan Malhotra, Mukul Dev were underutilized as their roles did not have the right kind of substance. The others were okay.
