Director Onir won accolades for his debut film 'My Brother Nikhil'. He came with a different plot for his next flick 'Bas Ek Pal'. The
film deals with human relationships. There is noting special about the story. The director's selection of team is fine but he could have
selected some other plot like his debut one. He partly succeeds in his attempt.
Nikhil (Sanjay Suri) meets Anamika (Urmila) in the night party at Anticlock Pub. The chemistry between the two is obvious from the
moment they meet. However, she disappears from the place without even telling him her name. Nikhil starts visiting the pub regularly,
hoping to meet her again. After many nights of waiting, on a night when Nikhil has gone to Anticlock with Rahul (Jimmy Shergill) and
Steve (Rehaan Engineer), Anamika appears with her friends. An altercation takes place, leading to a scuffle in which a shot is fired.
And how this moment changes the lives of Nikhil's friends' and Anamika's lives, is to be seen on the screen.
Performance:
Sanjay Suri has performed well. His chemistry with Urmila is well shown. Jimmy Shergill is superb. He did the given role with an
ease. Juhi Chawla is good. Urmila Matondkar is superb. Rehaan Engineer has got a brief role as Juhi's husband. He did it well. The
chemistry between Jimmy and Juhi Chawla is also fine. The others did upto the content. Music by Pritam, Mithoon, Vivek Philip, Eric
Pillai is mediocre. Story, direction and screenplay are fine. The other aspects are okay.
