'3 Deewarein' is a complete entertainer. It is the story of friendship and hope of three prisoners. It has good screenplay, direction and excellent performances. Hats off to Nagesh Kukunoor for making a good and definitely a different story.
Coming to story, Ishaan (Naseeruddin Shah), Jaggu (Jackie Shroff), and Nagya (Nagesh Kukunoor) are three murder convicts on death row. Jaggu is a lawyer and loves poetry. Nagya is a man aggrieved with the world and Ishaan is a natural charmer. The three become friends and develop a special bond in prison. Mohan is the prison warden, who strongly believes in holistic reformation and perceives prisons as home to prisoners and not as cages for animals. A documentary filmmaker Chandrika (Juhi Chawla) arrives at the prison to capture the lives of these three convicts. As the documentary progresses, a bond begins to evolve between Chandrika and the three men and with this bond unfolds an inexplicable series of events, that leads to an edge of the seat finale.

The film is to the point, and remains focused throughout.
Juhi Chawla with a de-glamorized persona looks great and gave a flawless performance. Jackie and Gulshan gave excellent performances. Naseerudin as usual was at his best. Comedy by Nagesh Kukunoor is situational and good. To sum up '3 Deewarein' is a good movie to watch.
